What a gem! Our stay at Domes was perfect. John and Lani have done an amazing job to create a beautiful, peaceful and comfortable place. Perfect for a couple or come with a group and rent multiple rooms/domes. We stayed with another couple and the pool was a great common space to spend the afternoon. The pool is the perfect temperature and is very private. The hosts were always available and happy to help us plan our outings in Loreto. We will definitely be coming back! 🌞

What a fantastic experience! The place itself was absolutely gorgeous, and we could easily have stayed a week just soaking up the sounds of birds, dipping in the pool, and watching the stars out on the deck. The shared kitchens make it easy to meet other guests and the hosts live on site and were extraordinarily welcoming and helpful, offering tips for the best local food spots and sharing cool facts about the local flora. I highly recommend staying here, it's a fantastic spot to land!

An amazing oasis with superb ambiance! John was extremely accommodating and always ready with helpful tips for seeing the sights. The dome we stayed in was eclectic and beautiful with its own kitchen, living area and patio- such a unique experience. The entire compound is surrounded by a high wall for privacy and landscaped with local plants, bougainvillea and climbing morning glory vines. There is a long, heated swimming pool and many outdoor sitting areas with a fire pit. It is a short walk to the town plaza but far enough away to avoid the hustle bustle of town. We would definitely return and highly recommend!!

A magical stay in a magical town! John and Lani truly know how to make a guest feel welcome at their one-of-a-kind hotel. They are true hosts who live on site, and we enjoyed chatting with them from our check-in to even beyond checkout as they offered to help us with any questions we had for the rest of our stay in Loreto - even in a different location! They convinced us to stay away from the condo timeshare presentation we had dazedly agreed to upon arrival at the airport and instead set us up for an incredible couples massage on the terrace next to our room in their hotel. From restaurant and activity recommendations to good conversation and even a bit of tea to keep me going in the mornings, we felt thoroughly cared for. Note that if you are a tea drinker, bring some with you to Loreto - hardly any of the locals drink tea here! We loved staying in our simple but comfortable and well-appointed room (so much gorgeous tile!!) and getting to know our sweet neighbor in the outdoor kitchen shared by just the two upper rooms. Relaxing by the pool with a book was also a favorite. We hope to return with friends and enjoy another stay in the future - perhaps in one of the unique and lovely dome apartments next time!!

This place was probably the best airbnb we ever stayed at! The perfect place for my 30ist birthday. The space is beautiful, the pool is heated/cooled as needed and it is even bigger than it looks on the picture. The rooms are amazing and there is everything you could possibly need. On top of that, John and Lani were the best hosts, we shared some nice chats and they even invited us to join their pizza party :). John is a great cook and he also offers cooking classes in-house. Thank you so much, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Just home from a few wonderful weeks staying at Dome Suite Dome in Loreto, my second year in a row! What a fabulous feeling to return to this one-of-a-kind little motel. Except, there's very little "motel - y" about it. John and Lani have created a unique 5-unit community, where guests can be as social or private as they wish. Both hosts are warm and welcoming, full of suggestions of things to do and places to eat, and 100% committed to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. AND the place is drop-dead gorgeous.

Look no further- you found the place!! We spent a week at the Domes and we loved it! As we stepped through the front door a sense of calm, peaceful, relaxation swept over us. It is delightful, clean, and comfortable to say the least.. It's a hidden gem. John and Lani were extremely kind and accommodating. Always ready with helpful tips for seeing the sights and finding the places to eat. Get on a bike or stroll the real Loreto. Cool off by the pool. See the stars dance overhead and enjoy. You'll love it!!!

I had a delightful stay at Dome Luna! Lani was friendly and personable, and took the time to give me a full tour including the route to the beach. The atmosphere of the whole property is peaceful and bright with plants and artwork. The pool was clean and always the right temperature. The location is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and groceries, just ask for directions and recommendations. All amenities were as described, the air-conditioning worked well as did the shower and kitchen appliances. I would happily stay here again!

Such a delightful place! John and Lani were magnificent hosts. The place is beautiful with a heated pool ( a must for winter in Loreto) and free bikes to cruise around on! They arranged food for us and then graciously agreed to allow us have our wedding ceremony at the Domes when the weather turned. My wife and I can’t thank them enough. We will be back for an anniversary for sure!

John and Loni have a beautiful little sanctuary in Loreto, just off the beaten path. My wife and I stayed here (Dome Luna) a few nights during our Honeymoon. We couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts. The domes were perfect for the two of us and could've slept at least one more. There was a kitchenette with fridge and freezer and a/c if you need it. The pool was heated and was so nice to be in after snorkeling in the cold waters of Sea of Cortez. There were beautiful plants all over the property. The property was off the beaten path just enough that we didn't "feel" like tourists but still close enough to walk to the main shopping/restaurant district. We rented a car and parked in the street right it front of the property and it was totally safe. By the way, if you're lucky enough to stay here when John is making pizza, you just might be able to try a slice of perhaps the best pizza you've ever had.

After seventy perfect days at DSD we don't know how to describe it. Every afternoon was pool time unless there was something really important going on. With only 5 units, and friendly, interesting hosts, we were constantly getting to know our neighbors as they came and went. The layout was perfect for when our sister and brother-in-law came for a week. They were close by yet we still had our own space for those who like to sleep in. We agreed this would be a great spot for a big family reunion. Spanish cooking classes with John and Myra will never be forgotten. We are still amazed at the creativity that went into designing this wonderful space. We hope to come back soon!

Best host in Loreto! We spent two nights at John’s amazing place and we’ll definitely be coming back! Every bit of our stay was amazing, comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful architecture, garden and a heated pool to top it all off! John knows the best spots to dine and always went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and called a taxi for us when it was time to fly home. I cannot recommend this place enough for couples and families alike looking for a quiet relaxing stay and close proximity to the waterfront.

John and Lani are incredible hosts and Loreto is a lovely community with all kinds of different things to do and experience. The space is beautiful with well cared for gardens and the pool is a great place to relax in. John gave us a number of recommendations for food and sites to see and he knocked it out of the park every time. The previous reviews of this place don’t do it justice. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. We’ll definitely be back!

Love this place! I want to head back already and I haven't even been home a week yet. John and Lani are so warm and welcoming, so gracious and generous - they really make this place special! Dome Suite Domes is the perfect spot for a stay in Loreto: just a hop and a skip to the ocean - perfect for a little walk with my morning coffee for yoga on the beach - and close enough to town to walk in for ice cream, live music, restaurants, museums... also far enough from the plaza that the property is more quiet and private. I stayed in Cuarto Amanecer for two weeks - sweet private patio, along with a large shared terrace and outdoor kitchen. Excellent sunrise/sunset views. Dome Suite Domes is set up so well: beautiful, peaceful common spaces *and private spaces - it's easy to connect with the hosts and other guests when that's what you want, or spend quiet time in your own space. Gorgeous landscaping, and a beautiful clean pool at the perfect temperature. Spending time with the resident felines was a highlight for me - but if you're not a cat lover, just let John and Lani know. Cross your fingers you'll be there for pizza night - it's exceptional! Big thanks to John & Lani, Myra & Jesus, and Mochi & Goliat. 💜

My husband and I just spent 10 days at Domes. John and Lani are warm, responsive hosts, who are incredibly well networked locally with ideas and contacts for food, fishing, outings to outa the way (and delightful) excursions and “what-to-do’s in town” e.g. yoga, gym. Domes offered us an easy and relaxed vibe to hang out, amidst lush grounds with native plants, flowers and fruit trees. We were in & out of the lap pool daily for quick dips, longer floats or a bit of exercise. The private courtyard setting included a carefully curated, culturally-rich musical library…available or not for listening. We had plenty of shade options outside for breakfast or afternoon beverages. Dome rooms and casitas were thoughtfully provisioned, very clean and well maintained and lovely to the eye. Bed was very comfortable and husband even commented on “good pillows.” Location was easy in & out to the main highway. Neighborhood was very walkable / bikeable to the beach, marina, market, colonial center and local food offerings. My only regret: I would have loved to have bbqed a freshly-caught yellow tail on the back patio … next time.
